Tomorrow, MHJC is hosting our 2023 Talent Quest!
6pm-7.30pm in the school theatre
Tickets are $5 which students can purchase at morning tea outside of Water Whānau or tomorrow night at the door (tickets permitting).
We have singers, dancers, musicians, and jugglers all ready to put on an amazing show. We hope to see you there!

Thriving Flat Bush Photo Contest
The ‘Thriving Flat Bush Photo Contest’ recently took place in our community and was organised by Mrs Joshi. Lots of incredible photos were received that showcased the beauty of Flat Bush.

Teacher Only Day – August 28th
A reminder to our school community that Monday 28th August is a Teacher Only Day. An email has also gone home. Classes will not run on Monday and students are to stay home.
Artistic Gymnastic Championships
Congratulations to Paige Roberts (8C1) and Olivia Dobson (8M2) for competing at the Auckland Schools Gymnastics, Champion Of Champions, Artistic Gymnastic Championships earlier this term.
Paige placed 1st overall for Wag Step5 and Olivia came 3rd overall.
Excellent job girls. Congratulations!
College Sport Road Race
Last week, a number of students attended the College Sport Road Race. Congratulations to our girls team on their third place finish. Amazing running to all who took part!
Non-Uniform Day – Friday 18th August
This Friday 18th August is a Non-Uniform Day.
Students – please come to school wearing orange, green, black & white and bring your cold coin.
All donations will go towards the OSC Scholarship for students to further their studies at university.
Te Ahi Ora – Reminder
A reminder for our community . . .
𝐓𝐞 𝐀𝐡𝐢 𝐎𝐫𝐚 has been visiting MHJC this week, working with all of our students. And our students (and staff) have been amazed.
𝐓𝐞 𝐀𝐡𝐢 𝐎𝐫𝐚 is holding a community wide event (not connected to MHJC) on Saturday 12th August at Barry Curtis Park from 5.30-8:30 p.m.
Boys Football Counties Manukau U15 Champions
Congratulations to our Boys Football Team who are the Counties Manukau U15 Champions.
On Wednesday afternoon, they travelled away to play Pukekohe High School. The boys had to focus and alter their play in order to capture the win. Final score was MHJC – 2, Pukekohe High School – 1. Congratulations team! Well done!

A reminder that tomorrow (Thursday 10th August) from 4.30-6.30pm, 𝐓𝐞 𝐀𝐡𝐢 𝐎𝐫𝐚 will give an exhibition on our school fields to which ONLY MHJC parents and students are invited owing to Health and Safety considerations.
𝐓𝐞 𝐀𝐡𝐢 𝐎𝐫𝐚 is then holding a community wide event (not connected to MHJC) on Saturday 12th August at Barry Curtis Park from 5.30-8:30 p.m.
Te Ahi Ora
𝐓𝐞 𝐀𝐡𝐢 𝐎𝐫𝐚 will be visiting MHJC from the 7th – 11th of August. Te Ahi Ora is a community organisation which promotes safe fire performances. According to Te Ahi Ora this emerging art form is a unique activity, half performing art, half extreme sport. This discipline connects the mind and the body in an incredibly enjoyable manner, while encouraging creativity and self expression. They will be working with a Whānau each day, and on their final day providing a special session for our Māori and Pasifika learners.
