Year 9 students in Mountains Whanau have enjoyed integrated learning on their ‘Water Survival – Water Safety’ Context. This has seen Mathematic, Science, English, Global Studies, Physical Education & Health learning areas working collaboratively to achieve deeper, more authentic learning.
Students have been developing an understanding of the water safety issues that are prominent in News Media. They have had the opportunity to develop an understanding of water safety as well as the practical skills to keep them and their families safer, in and around the water.
Congratulations to our Year 9 & 10 debaters who started their 2016 ASD season off with two impressive wins this afternoon. Both teams debated in the affirmative for the moot, ‘Waitangi Day should be replaced with a New Zealand Day’.
