Last week, Te Whānau Maunga (Mountains) Year 10s went to Rotorua for an overnight trip.
Despite the wet weather it was an action packed trip!
They visited Whakarewarewa Thermal Village, where they learned about geothermal cooking and the history of the local area and iwi. Students and staff also gave Zorbing a go! The group continued their adventures with a visit to the Redwood Treewalk at night. They swam at the Polynesian Spa and went up the Gondola to the Luge, where teachers and students participated in some competitive races. It was an amazing trip.
Maunga Whānau is already looking forward to Rotorua 2026!

It was so great having MHP and Baverstock in attendance to compete. And it was heartening to see our students fully engaged and having fun while solving Maths problems.
A special shout-out to our incredible markers, your support was invaluable and to our Math Monitors who worked hard to set up and pack down. ➗➕➖✖️

Late Friday night, our 12 Year 10 delegates headed off to Singapore for the week to take part in the Hwa Chong Leaders’ Summit. Since arriving, they have been tourists taking in the Supertree Grove in Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay. They have also had a blast at Universal Studios. 🎢🎡
We look forward to hearing updates from the Leaders’ Summit once it begins this week.
