The school came second overall in the Junior Boys 6-member team event. Well done to David Blanco (10F2), Daniel Blanco (8M2), Ryker Tolich (7M2), Lafaele Mikaele (8W2), Cooper Bowers (7F2) and Alan Shipway (10F2).
Kindness Week – Pink Shirt Day
This past Friday was Pink Shirt Day, the final celebration of Kindness Week. Students wore pink clothing in support of Pink Shirt Day which is celebrated annually around the globe. The day began in Canada in 2007 after two students took a stand against homophobic bullying after another student was harassed for wearing pink. Since 2009, Pink Shirt Day has been celebrated throughout Aotearoa.
Kindness Week – ‘Kindness Wall’
Another key feature of Kindness Week each year is our MHJC ‘Kindness Wall’. Each day this week, students have the opportunity to write kind and thoughtful messages to their peers in support of inclusion, happiness, and diversity.
Kindness Week – Crazy Socks
Today was the kick start of Kindness Week at MHJC. Students and staff wore crazy socks to spread the message of acceptance. What a great start to the week!
